From the 13th to the 15th of March, Wushu had its camp. It was held in school and as participants, every member of the CCA, including me, had to participate in the camp. We began right after school ended. The camp started at 1.30p.m. on Friday. We began with training as per usual till 4.30p.m. as we had to move our bags from the Wushu room to our respective classrooms which will be our bedrooms for the nights. The boys and the girls shared a room respectively. We also have to move more than a hundred tables from four classrooms to make a game which we will play later in the camp. At 5.30p.m., we continued training till 7.30p.m. as we had to take our dinner. We had to shout several cheers before we can fill our hungry stomachs with food. After dinner, we play stamina-building games like catching, treasure-hunting and several more till 12 midnight. It was extremely exhilarating. Although we hate our smelly and sticky bodies, we had to wait before the Band members finish showering first as they are also having camp and they are much more members than the Wushu Club. We slept at around 1a.m. after showering. We woke up at 7a.m. on Day 2 and started with physical training. That includes jogging around the school campus. Then, we had a break before we had our breakfast and started training after breakfast till 12 noon when we had lunch. We slacked around after lunch in our ‘rooms’ . We went to the hall to play Captain’s Ball with the Band CCA members after we had our break. We lost to them 13 to none! How embarrassing. After the game, at around 3, we got ready to walk to Sembawang Park. It was a long and tiring walk. We left school at about 4 plus and arrived at 6! Upon arrival, we took a short break before we began our sandcastle-making competition. We were divided into two groups: the upper secondary and the lower secondary. The lower secondary group did not make a sandcastle. In fact, we made an octopus! The winner was the upper secondary. Perhaps we, as the lower secondary group lost as we did not stick to the theme. After the competition, we ate ham and cheese sandwiches as our dinner. We walked back to school after we ate our dinner. We left at 7 plus and reached school at only around 9 plus. My, it was tiring and our limbs had gone sore. We had supper at around 10. The supper was fried beehoon and fried chicken. Not bad for a meal. We carried on with our activities after the meal. The upper-secondary had to make a human maze with the tables we moved on Day 1. For the lower secondary, we had to do some painting business. After the lower sec had done everything including clearing up the canteen, it was already 2a.m. but the upper secs’ hadn’t finish yet, so we played ‘Blind Mice’ although we were tired. The game was fun. But the upcoming game, Human Maze is much more fantastic! Each lower sec participant had to complete the maze in absolute darkness! I had played this game before in the previous camp but both mazes were interestingly fun! We ended Day 2 at around 3a.m. We had a quick shower and quickly went to sleep. We were supposed to wake up at 7.30a.m. to start Day 3 but everybody overslept and so Day 3 started at 8 a.m. We started off with a simple breakfast and because everyone was not in the mood for some training, Coach decided to teach us some simple moves like handstand and somersault. We then ended the camp by watching a photo compilation done by one of the techer-in-charge. The camp only ended at 1.30p.m.
